How to calculate SNF from FAT and CLR
Many centres still calculate SNF by hand or leave it only on the analyser slip. For billing, you need one method everyone trusts.
Common SNF formula
A widely used formula in Indian dairies is:
SNF = (CLR / 4) + (0.21 x FAT) + 0.36
- CLR - corrected lactometer reading
- FAT - fat percentage
- SNF - solids-not-fat
Your plant may use a slight variant. What matters is consistency.
Why payments break
Supplier amount usually depends on litres plus FAT/SNF against your rate matrix. If operators round differently, society ledger and plant office diverge.
How Doodh Master helps
Enter litres, FAT, SNF, and CLR while collecting. Amounts use your configured chart - desk and accounts see the same numbers.
